Green Mountain Coffee Wellness Blend

If anyone knows me, they know I Love coffee. Love with a capital L. I was intrigued to try the new wellness Blend from Green Mountain Coffee. Oftentimes when companies try to add things to their coffee or food products, you can tell the difference and it doesn't taste as well. Not at all in this case. I couldn't tell the difference between the wellness blend and regular coffee from Green Mountain. I didn't feel any different after trying the antioxidant blend, but I could tell that the focus blend, did in fact help me to focus more! The focus was definitely needed. I am so excited to buy these again!

If you are interested in trying Green Mountain's Wellness blend, please leave a comment and I will send you a coupon code for $3 off.

I received this product for free through bzzagent, but all opinions are my own

Premama Prenatal Vitamin Drink

Who likes taking the horse pills for their prenatals? That's right, no one! But Premama has come out with a doctor approved mix to go in your water. You get all your vitamins. You can't taste any difference in your water!

I was anemic throughout my pregnancy and recently had to have my iron levels checked. After taking premama for a few days, my iron levels were great!

Premama is for pregnant and lactating women, but can also be used for women who are trying to get pregnant!

Diet Doc HCG Review

Diet Doc is a revolutionary diet product. It uses the HCG diet. I was so happy to try these products, especially since I am trying to lose the baby weight.

I tried the chili, the thai chicken, and chicken gumbo! I just had to add the meat. The spices worked great together and they didn't taste like diet food at all. I even lost 1 lb after just two days!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

33 Weeks Pregnant Update!

How far along? 33 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Only 15 lbs! I am huge so I have no idea where the belly is coming from but ok!
Maternity clothes? Almost all. I have some still non maternity stuff (like summer dresses that fit) but then again I'm growing out of some of my maternity clothes!
Stretch marks? Some, but I think they are still from the pregnancy will Maddy.
Movement: Lots! Abigail is moving everywhere and kicking me in every which way!
Food cravings: Not too many, just whatever!
Have you started to show yet: Yep.
 Gender: Precious little girl!
Labor Signs: A ton of Braxton Hicks and the irritable uterus has struck again with 4 overnight visits to the hospital so far!
Belly Button in or out? Still in
Wedding rings on or off? Took them off a week ago. I hate summer swelling
Sleeping: Ok. Sleeping good, but up multiple times a night to pee!
Mood: Pretty Good. Lots of stuff to get done and starting to run out of time!

Clairol Nice and Easy Review

I was so happy to get a chance through VocalPoint to try out Clairol Nice and Easy Non-Permanent Hair Color! I liked the idea of trying a new redish hue for a few weeks!
The conditioner that came with the box made my hair super soft! I loved having something temporary, but that still lasts for a little longer. I can't wait to try some new and different colors!

Here is an excerpt from VocalPoint about Nice and Easy:

New Non-Permanent Hair Color from Nice 'n Easy lets you date a new hair color before you commit. It gradually washes out within 28 shampoos so you can flirt with a handsome new shade before you get (hair) tied down.

My Friend Bernard Movie Review

I was recently asked to review some new movies coming out from Phase 4 Films. One of them is My Friend Bernard. It is such a cute movie! Just watching it put me in the mood for Christmas!

The plot is very cute. A little boy loses his bear and a small doggie picks it up. The little boy is scared of everything including the little dog. But the dog takes him on all kinds of adventures, which is where he meets Bernard. By going on all the adventures, it helps Sam overcome his fear of everything!

I thought the movie was very sweet. The animation was well done. My two year old kept talking to me about the baby losing his bear and loves the animals. Her favorite part was when Bernard got bit on the butt by a fishy.

If you would like to purchase the movie, they are available at Target, Walmart and Amazon. You can check out more details at Phase 4 Films

We received the product for free but all opinions and reviews are my own. No other compensation was provided.

 Gender: Precious little girl!

Investing for your Children

nvesting For Your Children

As any parent understands, one of the most important things about raising children is providing them with opportunities to be successful in the future. This is a very broad concept, and can mean anything from providing a safe home environment, to paying for college, to teaching them how to manage money. Whatever the case, however, any parent who hopes to do the best possible job of preparing his or her children for success and opportunity ought to understand that there are various types of investment opportunities that can be of great assistance with this sort of effort. It is very hard to consistently earn income that can both provide for your family and your future, which is why it is essential to invest, provided that you know what you’re doing.

The most popular sort of investment that most people think of is putting money behind stocks in the stock market. Essentially, the idea is that you buy small shares of companies, and the success or failure of those companies will cause those shares to increase or decrease in value, respectively. You can then sell back the shares for a profit or loss depending on the stock market activity. People who understand how to read trends and predict company performance can have a great deal of success with this sort of investment opportunity, and this is a good way to make money in the long term, if you have a talent for it. However, this sort of investment is designed with inherent risk, and meant to give you an opportunity to make money. For a parent looking to keep finances stable for the future, an investment designed around the idea of stability may make more sense.

If indeed stability is what you’re looking for, you may want to look into an entirely different sort of investment: precious metals. Investing in gold bullion, for example, may not be as familiar a concept to you, but it is quite simple, and can provide you with a means of keeping the value of your money stable. To explore investing in gold, you need only go to a relevant website like bullionvault.com, where you will be able to purchase any amount of gold that you desire. But why do so? Simply put, currency can rise and fall in value as a result of economic shifts, whereas gold bullion tends to be somewhat unchanging by comparison (though some shifts do occur). This means that if you invest a chunk of your money in gold and leave it be over time, then that amount will be protected against potential downshifts in the value of your currency, provided that the value of gold sees no similar shifts. If you monitor you r investment carefully, this can be a great way to preserve wealth for the future.

This is a guest post on behalf of Bullion Vault by Sam Lillard. Sam writes frequently on the topics of financial strategy and investment opportunities.

Kroger Private Selection Products!

I am so excited that we got to try some of Kroger's Private Selection Products through BzzAgent. We were given a bag of cracked pepper chips, a coupon for a 1 lb of Angus beef, and a coupon for an apple pie! (Unfortunately, my toddler stole the coupon for the pie and it has disappeared!)

I am not a fan of pepper, so I let my hubby try the chips! He thought they were of an even better quality than you get from some of the major manufacturers!

We made burgers with the Angus Beef. We usually buy all of our beef directly from a farmer because of the superior quality, however Kroger's Angus Beef was on the same level as our farm raised beef! We will be buying it again!

Filippo Berio Olive Oil

I was recently given the chance through BzzAgent to review Filippo Berio Olive Oil. It is truly a great, light tasting olive oil. Not only does Filippo Berio have a great taste to it, it also is great for your heart. Olive Oil helps lower you cholesterol and contains the healthy fats. Filippo Berio website offers many different recipes.

This is my favorite recipe on their website:
 Greek Salad

  • 1 clove garlic, cut in half
  • 4 cups romaine lettuce or mixed salad greens, rinsed, dried and cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 8 radishes, cut in half
  • 10 ripe olives, rinsed
  • 1 red onion, thinly sliced and divided into rings
  • 1 green bell pepper, seeded and thinly sliced
  • 1 medium cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 1 ripe medium tomato, cut in wedges
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon dried dill
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano leaves
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • ½ cup Filippo Berio Extra Virgin Olive Oil
    1. Mix chopped tomatoes, cucumber, green pepper, and parsley in large bowl.
    2. Add olive oil and toss salad.
    3. Add lemon juice, pepper, and salt (if desired) and toss again to mix well.

Vickers Family Happenings!

Here is Maddy, age 2, riding her favorite doggy, Chubbs!

At the Vickers House we have had a very busy past few months (as you can probably tell by the lack of posts).  We are currently 13 weeks pregnant with baby #2. We had our NT scan at the doctor yesterday. Everything is measuring great and our risks for down syndrome, trisomy, cardiac, or brain problems are very slim. We feel very blessed. We also found out there is a 90% chance the baby is a boy! My husband is extremely happy!
I am almost done with law school. I have to finish up a paper and attend 3 classes and I'm done!!! I cannot believe we are there already. I started law school pregnant with Maddy and now I'm finishing law school pregnant with baby #2. I'm ready for vacation with the hubs and some nice rest and relaxation before having to tackle the bar exam!
It is hard to believe it but Maddy is already two. She has so many words and talks so much. She is absolutely in love with her baby dolls and loves rocking them, feeding them. She loves playing outside and jumping on her trampoline! But mostly she just likes being a handful. Welcome to age 2. We still aren't getting good sleep. She wakes every morning at 5:30 regardless of what time she goes to bed! We are looking forward to some sleep on vacation!

We are super excited to be heading out in a few weeks for a cruise. We are going on the Carnival Legend and heading to Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Honduras, and Belize. We have done the route before and its so much fun! It is my gift for graduating law school.

Potty Time Review

I now have a two year old. (How did that happen?) And potty training is on the forefront. I must admit I'm more than a little anxious about it. But I was recently given the chance to review the Potty Time DVD.  It was a great resource for us! My daughter really enjoyed watching the DVD and even danced along at some points.
Potty Time
If you are getting ready to start potty training, check them out. We are currently trying to teach Maddy all the sign language in the DVD, so she can tell us when she needs to go potty!

Hill's Science Diet Ideal Balance Review

I received a bag of Ideal Balance Grain Free Dog food to review through BzzAgent! If you know me from reading my blog, you know I have three dogs and a cat, so pet food is a big expense in our house. I always want to buy the best quality for the best price. Unfortunately, one of my dogs tends to break out in allergies from certain foods. The vet and I both think it is related to the grains used in dog food. So I was ecstatic to try Grain Free Dog food. I am happy to report it did work and he did not have an allergic reaction.
I am also trying to replace a lot of our highly processed foods for more natural foods. So I was really happy that Ideal Balance is made with only natural ingredients, and no corn, artificial colors, or preservatives. What is the best is that it has chicken as the #1 ingredient.
Unfortunately, it is higher priced than I am used to, but the quality was so great, that we will be finding money in our budget for this food!

Update on Resolutions and some other notes from my life.

I made a few resolutions this year, unlike many years and so far they are going pretty well. I thought I would give an update. Not all of them have I been able to get started on, but here is the update on the ones I have.

Personal
  1. I want to lose 20 lbs. I am not going to make this a resolution that needs to be done right away. I want the 20 lbs gone by 12/31/2012. That is a little over 1.5 lb per month, totally doable! As of this morning, I have lost 6.5 lbs. Not bad for two and a half weeks. I'm happy because I'm on target.
  2. I want to meet my www.sparkpeople.com fitness minutes. Every year they set a goal of 1080 fitness minutes. Even though it doesn't seem like much I have yet to meet it! This one I'm proud of. I have 186 fitness minutes done already. That is 17% done!
  3. Read at least 10 books. I have so many I want to read but don't get around to it often. Obviously haven't got all 10 done, but I am half way through one. Hopefully after Maddy's naptime, I will be almost finished.
I would love for this year to be the year that I get this all done!

Adult 18+ Post Eden Cooks Club

Eden Fantasy's has a great new Eden Cooks Club! I am loving all the different articles and recipe ideas on their website.

While checking out the Cooks Club, I decided to try out their Homemade Hot Sauce! At our house, we love spicy food. My husband loves putting hot sauce on everything.
In the recipe, it calls for white vinegar or you can substitute white wine. I've never had hot sauce with white wine, so I decided that I would try it with the wine! It didn't make a huge difference, but you could tell the subtle difference. I love this hot sauce. It tastes better than the stuff I buy at the store, and it is much cheaper! The spice is just perfect for someone who likes spicy but not over the top spicy. You can eat it and enjoy it! If you want to adjust the spiciness, you can either use less or more cayenne pepper or chili powder!
There are other recipes on the site that look yummy. Apple Curry Recipe is one I am excited to try. I love curry but my husband is very particular about what he eats, so hopefully he will like it. I am putting this on our menu plan for next week! There are so many yummy looking recipes on their site. If you are in need of any type of recipes, check it out. They have dinners, desserts, appetizers, condiments, etc.
Are you looking for something sweet? Try out their Whopper cookies. If you like Whooper candies, you will LOVE these cookies!
Eden Fantasy's  has all the adult toys and costumes you could imagine. Check them out!

I am being offered a gift card for my post. All reviews and opinions are 100% mine!

Tyler's Coffee Review and Giveaway

I was recently offered the chance to try Tyler's Coffee. Their coffee is unique as it is Acid Free, which means it is great for people with sensitive stomachs.

I wasn't sure how I would like it, since I am a huge lover of regular coffee. I honestly could not tell the difference between coffee with the acid and without.

Another benefit they offer is the their decaf coffee is decaffeinated without any chemicals. I remember when I was pregnant being told no decaf because of the chemicals. At least I know for the next baby, I might be able to have coffee!!

And now for the giveaway!

Simply leave a comment below telling me your favorite coffee and I will use random.org to pick a winner on Jan. 16!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

My Resolutions.

For the first time in many years, I am making resolutions. I started yesterday on most of them. I figured I would write them down so next year on Jan 1, 2013, I can see how I did.

New Years Resolutions

So here we are at the first day of 2012. What are you hoping to accomplish this year?

Parents.com has a great article on Real Resolutions for Moms. I am going to try to do a few of them.

Also, I am hoping to get more fitness time in, watch less tv, and set more reasonable goals!
